The Claims Framework has been established to allow relevant stakeholders to communicate about their involvement with BCI in a way that is transparent, meaningful and protects the credibility of the programme.

These guidelines complement the use of the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) Claims Framework, and are intended for use by organisations wishing to make B2B communications. Conformance with these guidelines is mandatory when using a BCI Trademark.

2024–2025 was a transformative year for Better Cotton, and this annual report highlights our field, market and organisational successes, challenges and opportunities. Key achievements include becoming a certification scheme, announcing our plan to become a regenerative standard, and the launch of a new consumer facing label as part of our refreshed brand identity. The report also includes financial and governance information per Swiss GAAP.

This document sets out BCI's procedures for Claims approvals, monitoring and addressing misuse, and suspending permissions to use Claims in line with ISEAL's Sustainability Claims Good Practice Guide.
