We’re excited to announce the upcoming launch of our new consumer-facing product label, set to roll out in the second half of 2025.

Our new label will hit stores in the second half of 2025.

The new label signals that the cotton in a product was grown by Better Cotton Farmers, who have been certified against requirements in our farm-level standard to protect and restore the environment and improve the livelihoods of cotton farming communities.

It also shows that, through their membership and sourcing, the Better Cotton Retailer or Brand Member you’re purchasing from is committed to shaping a cotton industry that puts farmers, communities and the environment first.

To foster trust in the label and what it represents, we have introduced strict requirements for its use. Retailer and Brand Members who want to feature a BCI Cotton Label on products will need to source through our traceability solution, which provides visibility into the country of origin and the supply chain from spinner to store. Before using the label, they will also need to be certified by a third party to our chain of custody requirements. This brings an added level of assurance and independence to our system. Click here to find out more about certification.

To support this, we have developed a detailed guidance document explaining how the label can be used, which can be downloaded as a PDF below. In addition, specific requirements for product eligibility are available in our Claims Framework version 4.0.

Please note: Until May 2026, the current Better Cotton label will be in circulation, and you may see this on products. Eventually, the new BCI Cotton Label will replace this one. To learn more about the current label, please click here.
