Introducing the Better Cotton Chain of Custody Standard (Session 1)
May 10, 2023
8:00 - 9:00 (BST)
This webinar will provide information on the soon to be published Better Cotton Chain of Custody Standard. This is a revised version of the Better Cotton Chain of Custody Guidelines V1.4 which is the key framework connecting demand with supply of Better Cotton, helping to incentivise cotton farmers to adopt more sustainable practices.
There has been an increased demand for tracing physical Better Cotton which requires the introduction of physical chain of custody models alongside the existing mass balance model. The new Chain of Custody Standard will introduce physical segregation and controlled blending as additional chain of custody models, creating the opportunity for our members to trace physical Better Cotton.
Agenda:
- About the Better Cotton Traceability Programme
- Overview of CoC revision process
- Introducing the Better Cotton CoC Standard v1.0
- Monitoring and verification process for physical Better Cotton
- What to expect in 2023
- Q&A
*The webinar will take place in two sessions to accommodate different time zones. Please note that both sessions include the same content, so there is no need to attend both.
You can also register to attend the next webinar in the 2030 Strategy series at the links below. The webinar will take place on July 18, focusing on environmental impact.
