Better Cotton is grown in 22 countries around the world and accounts for 22% of global cotton production. In the 2022-23 cotton season, 2.13 million licensed Better Cotton Farmers grew 5.47 million tonnes of Better Cotton.

Better Cotton Stakeholder Event and Field Trip in Cairo, Egypt
October 3, 2023 - October 4, 2023
This field trip is targeted towards Retailers and Brands and their key suppliers wishing to source Egyptian Better Cotton.
Join a dynamic discussion forum in Cairo where you can meet with other Retailer & Brand Members, Supplier & Manufacturer Members and key stakeholders including producers, government officials and donors.
- Invite your key suppliers (spinners and vertical mills) to the event. You will have the opportunity to discuss what has hindered your sourcing of Egyptian Better Cotton to date.
- Learn all about the auction houses and how cotton trading works in Egypt.
- Visit a farm and meet with Egyptian Cotton farmers committed to implementing the Better Cotton Standard System
- Foster stronger stakeholder relationships in Egypt
- Meet potential donors for the Better Cotton Programme in Egypt, who are always happy to see private sector involvement.
Participants are responsible for their air travel and accommodation in Cairo and local transfers from the airport to the hotel on arrival and departure. Lunch, dinner, and local transportation for the activity days are sponsored so will be covered. Spaces for this event are limited so please register interest by 25 August to secure your participation.

Farm Visit to Better Cotton Farms
We will carry out a guided visit where you will have the opportunity to learn how the Better Cotton Standard System is implemented and meet with Egyptian BC farmers. You can ask your questions and learn about our work.
Wednesday 4 October 2023 – Location: Cairo
Stakeholders and Networking Event
You will have the opportunity to engage with Egyptian Cotton industry leaders and stakeholders and learn more about the cotton sector in Egypt and the Better Cotton Programme in Egypt.
