Better Cotton is grown in 22 countries around the world and accounts for 22% of global cotton production. In the 2022-23 cotton season, 2.13 million licensed Better Cotton Farmers grew 5.47 million tonnes of Better Cotton.

Retailer and Brand Sourcing and Communications Training

Better Cotton offers a monthly Sourcing and Communications training session. This is aimed at new Retailer and Brand Members, and also existing Retailer and Brand Members interested in refreshing their knowledge or training new team members.
The training will be relevant for anyone involved with sourcing as Better Cotton, such as your Buying, Sourcing and CSR teams. The second half of the training is particularly relevant for marketing teams. Please invite all relevant team members within your organisation.
This is a members-only group training held over the Cisco Webex platform. You will not be able to see or interact with other attendees on the call but there will be the opportunity to ask questions.
The 2 hour training will be split into three parts:
1. Introduction to Better Cotton (30 mins)
• Summary of Better Cotton’s mission and aim, and global reach • Summary of the Better Cotton Standard System • Explanation of Mass Balance, including a short video
2. Implementing the Better Cotton Sourcing Programme (30 mins + 10 mins for questions)
• Assigning a programme coordinator and setting up your BCP account • Setting sourcing targets and deliverables • Supply chain implementation and communicating with your suppliers • Explanation of membership options for the supply chain • Brief explanation of the Better Cotton Platform and collecting BCCUs
3. Communications training (40 mins + 10 mins for questions)
• Introduction to the Better Cotton Claims Framework • Basic Claims • Storytelling materials • Advanced Claims • On-Product Marks
