Today, BCI released the 2015 Harvest Report for Israel. BCI is excited to announce the first cotton harvest in Israel in partnership with the Israel Cotton Production and Marketing Board Ltd (ICB).
The Harvest Report can be accessed through an interactive map on the BCI website and details contextual factors from the latest harvest.
Highlights from the report include:
- BCI Farmers in Israel produced their first cotton harvest licensed as Better Cotton.
- 19,000 metric tonnes of cotton lint produced across 10,000 hectares.
- BCI Farmers learn from their own results as they strive towards continuous improvement.
- 100% of Israeli cotton farmers licensed as BCI Farmers.
Better Cotton is sown and harvested in different annual cycles across the world, which means that harvest data becomes available from different regions throughout the calendar year. When a country’s harvest results are finalised, they will be released on the 2015 Harvest Report map on an ongoing basis.
The next Harvest Report to be released will be Brazil.
