Current Status

There are currently 3 BCI projects working towards growing Better Cotton in Pakistan. WWF Pakistan is BCI Implementing Partner in Pakistan.

BCI Coordinators

Shafiq Ahmad (Pakistan Regional Coordinator) and Muhammad Rana Shuaib (Pakistan Supply Chain Coordinator) are BCI coordinators in pakistan since June 2010.

Working Group

The second meeting of the Pakistan Regional Working Group was held in March 2009 in Lahore. This meeting focussed on both the environmental and agronomic aspects and social impacts of cotton cultivation in Pakistan. A report from this meeting is available to download.

The first meeting of the Regional Working Group in Pakistan was held in Multan in February 2007. This meeting focussed on the environmental and agronomic aspects of cotton cultivation. A report from this meeting isavailable to download.
 

In parallel stakeholders were consulted about the social impacts of cotton cultivation in Pakistan. A summary report on the outcomes and findings of these consultations is available to download.
